The present work is a synthesis of the cooperation between many Haitian and international organizations who have decided to unite their forces and knowledge in order to deal in the best possible way with the problems caused by the reconstruction of the housing environment following the earthquake in January 2010. The proposed approach is the result of deliberations made during several international meetings on the subject that can be qualified as the valorization of the local building culture to enable the building programs to react in the best appropriate way.
