Over the past six months, AVEI has continued to advance the field of earthen architecture through pioneering projects, strategic collaborations, and knowledge dissemination. Key consultancy engagements in India include the Meditation Centre in Gujarat, where AVEI is overseeing the construction of a 33m-diameter compressed stabilized earth block (CSEB) dome—one of the largest of its kind—and the Dhamma Arunachala Vipassana Hall in Tiruvannamalai, featuring an 18.2m-spanning segmental cloister dome designed to enhance the meditative experience.
AVEI contributed to global discourse on sustainable construction through engagements in New Zealand and France and collaborated with URVEE Trust in Pune, India to integrate earthen technologies into architectural pedagogy. The NASA Special Workshop provided hands-on training to future architects, reinforcing AVEI’s commitment to education. As AVEI marks its 35th anniversary, it remains at the forefront of promoting resilient and sustainable built environments worldwide.
